Located in South Texas, Yorktown Memorial Hospital aka the Hospital of Nuns, closed its doors in 1986. This facility, detailed on Wikipedia, holds a sinister legend that continues to captivate those intrigued by its history. Constructed by the Felician Sisters in 1950, the hospital was initially a symbol of hope, but over time, disturbing facts emerged. As more information surfaced about suspicious deaths and mistreatment, it became evident that something sinister lurked within its walls. The hospital’s caretaker, at one point, is said to have been possessed, primarily within the former church. Throughout the building, unexplainable noises, such as the cries of phantom babies, people screaming and moaning in pain, and sinister laughter, have been heard. The chapel on the first floor stands out for its dark energy, with reports of organ music playing and sightings of malevolent shadow figures in the pews. According to accounts, the chapel is a hub for spirits, some even claiming the presence of demons and other dark entities. The current owner steadfastly avoids entering the hospital due to the lingering malevolence and grim legend associated with it. Yorktown Memorial Hospital, a place with a closed past and a chilling legend continues to be a source of fascination and fear.

I wish I got more pictures. I was so mesmerized with the old building. The caretakers have added some items for decorations or effects. Like the jail cell was brought in from an outside facility. I would recommend checking the hospital out. We got to enjoy it with an overnight paranormal investigating tour group. We didn't experience any physical contact but did have some eerie moments.

Visited this place with a large group and the building was creepy! However, too many people to get a really feeling. Many people were joking and faking evidence so those that were really trying to get something, couldn’t. It is sad that the building is literally falling apart. I wish they would restore it like many other abandoned hospitals. The ceiling was leaking, water on the floor. Many of the rooms weren’t accessible due to the room falling apart. We did capture some hits on our EMF and K2 meter. And our cat balls did light up a few times. Once in a room and in the chapel. This would be an amazing place to experience on your own in a small group if there was a working restroom or port a potty on property! But since there is no electricity, you have to walk quite a ways to use a bathroom. Overall, it is a gorgeous building and deserves some love and care!

It was an amazing experience! I drove out to Yorktown to experience firsthand the Memorial Hospital. It did not disappoint. The tour was great, and we took our time looking at every room. Some of the highlights are the chapel, the kitchen and the basement! Sadly the building is in poor shape, so who knows how much longer it will be available for tours. I encourage everyone to experience this place, you won’t regret it!
